With everything going on in the world today politically and socially there is a lot of unrest and a general sense of uneasiness.

Violent crime has increased this year – rioting, looting, and even murder has increased 21.8%. This pandemic has not been a positive for this country’s health physically or mentally. Because of this First Pawn has taken steps to be a force for good in our community.

We are a family owned locally run shop that believe in our second amendment rights. The second amendment is what grants us our God given right to self defense and to bear arms legally. In Florida the Castle Doctrine is held firmly in place, meaning that if someone breaks into your home and threatens your well-being putting you in fear for your life, you have the right to stand your ground and defend your life and that of your family by any means possible including lethal force if deemed necessary by the situation.

Stand your Ground: Florida goes one step further. Since 2005 even outside of the home if their life is threatened by an attacker in a place they are legally allowed to be. This is known as the Stand Your Ground Law.

While calling 911 is always the first choice sometimes there simply isn’t time. A life can hang in the balance of one decision or movement. We want our customers to be able to defend and protect themselves.

This is why we have accumulated such an all-encompassing selection of home defense firearms at our two convenient locations in Naples and Lehigh Acres, Florida.

We have seen a surge in the purchase of guns for self-protection in 2020. We strongly urge all new gun owners to take a gun safety class and if you believe you may want to carry your firearm you will need to go through a class for concealed carry and file with the state for a concealed carry permit before doing so. Any time you purchase a new firearm it’s a good idea to take it to a shooting range and get familiar with that particular gun, novice or pro.

To transport firearms in the state of Florida with no concealed carry you must be over 18  and will need to keep it within the interior of a private conveyance (car or truck) and keep the weapon securely encased not accessible for immediate use. The firearm may not be transported loaded. Bullets must be out of the gun and cased separately.

Ammo Shortages

With the increased demand and the unsettled nature of the country socially at the moment citizens aren’t really sure what to think about what the rest of 2020 could bring. With radical groups closing off areas in cities posing massive potential threats, being armed is a smart move. Because of this ammo has been flying off the shelves faster than it has in any recent year, making it harder to find.
